Secure your fertiliser
The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) has a ‘Secure Your Fertiliser’ website, aimed at the farming and growing community.
Fertiliser has been misused by terrorist groups to make explosive devices for many years and the importance of securing fertiliser for use in the farming and growing community cannot be underestimated.
The site provides information and advice for farmers, growers, land-owners and farm staff about the rationale behind securing fertilisers and offers cost-effective guidance as to how to achieve this.
The website is intended mainly for farmers but offers guidance which can equally be applied throughout the fertiliser supply chain.
The website is supported by all the UK farmers’ unions together with UK fertiliser manufacturers, importers, and numerous trade associations representing grain, dairy, beef and sheep farming.
For more information about how to secure your fertiliser, visit www.secureyourfertiliser.gov.uk or telephone Leicester (0116) 222 2222 and ask to speak to your local crime reduction officer, who should be able to offer advice relevant to your circumstances.
If you have information relating to fertiliser misuse or crime in your area you can report it on Leicester (0116) 222 2222.
